Terms of service

The service is provided by Kelu, an independent project operated by an individual in Colombia, based in Medellin, Colombia. For anything related to these terms, write to [email protected].

By adding the bot to a Discord server or signing in to the dashboard you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service.

Kelu is a Discord bot and a web dashboard to configure it. It covers moderation, levels, welcomes, support tickets, self-assignable roles, giveaways, music, platform notifications, assorted utilities, an economy and AI features. Which modules are on is decided by whoever administers each server.

The service runs on Discord and depends on it. We are not Discord and we are not affiliated with Discord Inc.; their platform, their rules and their availability are theirs.

• You must meet the minimum age Discord requires in your country. Never under 13.
• To configure a server you need the "Manage Server" permission on it, or access granted to you by its team from the dashboard.
• You are responsible for what is done from your account. If you think someone else is using it, write to [email protected].

Kelu may not be used to:

• Break the Discord Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
• Harass, threaten, impersonate anyone or distribute illegal content.
• Send unsolicited bulk messages, or automate actions to overload Discord or our systems.
• Reach data from servers you do not administer, or bypass plan limits by technical means.
• Resell the service or present it as your own without a written agreement.

The public API has its own per-key limits. Exceeding them consistently, or using a key to reach what it is not scoped for, is grounds for revocation.

What you and the members of your server write stays yours. We process it only to run the service: post a welcome message, keep a ticket transcript, count experience, apply a sanction.

Whoever administers a server decides which modules are on and therefore which member data is processed. Under data protection law that makes them the controller of that processing and us the processor. The Privacy Policy covers it in detail.

There is a free plan with everything essential, and paid plans that raise limits and add features. What each one includes is on the billing screen of the dashboard, and that table is built from the same data the system enforces.

• The subscription belongs to the SERVER, not to the person paying. If the payer leaves, the service continues.
• Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. The invoice is issued by Lemon Squeezy.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period already paid for.
• A failed payment does not cut the service immediately: there are seven days of grace with the full service before dropping back to the free plan.
• Dropping to the free plan deletes nothing. Configuration is kept and stops being published; it comes back in full if payment resumes.

We make reasonable efforts to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee a specific uptime figure. There can be outages for maintenance, third-party failures — Discord first among them — or causes outside our control.

Some features depend on external services and may stop being available without notice: music depends on third-party sources, AI on a model provider, and platform notifications on those platforms’ APIs.

The software, the name, the dashboard design and the documentation belong to Kelu, an independent project operated by an individual in Colombia. Using the service transfers none of those rights to you.

Third-party marks that appear — Discord among them — belong to their owners and are used only to identify the platform the service runs on.

We may suspend or terminate access for a server or an account if these terms are broken, if the usage threatens the stability of the service, or if the law requires it. Except in serious or urgent cases, we warn first.

You can stop using the service whenever you like by removing the bot from the server. What happens to the data then is in the Data Retention Policy.

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, data loss caused by third parties, or loss of profit. Our total liability towards you is limited to what you paid for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to it.

None of the above limits the rights the law grants consumers, nor excludes liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

If we change anything material we will announce it in the dashboard with reasonable notice. Continuing to use the service after the change takes effect means accepting it. If you do not accept it, you can cancel.

These terms are governed by the law of Colombia. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to go to the courts of your place of residence and to any alternative dispute resolution mechanisms available to you.

The service is used from every country, and choosing a governing law does not displace the mandatory consumer-protection rules of where you live: whatever those rules grant you applies over anything these terms say.
